Open Friday

(Almost) every Friday afternoon Platform K organises an Open Friday. Open Fridays are open classes in instant composition based on improvisation, for dancers with (basic) experience. Instant composition means (co-)creating movements in the moment, based on the space, the other dancers, your feelings, the music ... The classes are led by experienced guest teachers.

Nick Robaey teaches the Open Fridays in January and February 2026. Nick is a dancer, choreographer and musician, and played basketball and participated in triathlons for years before making the switch to dance. He has worked with Alexander Vantournhout, Martin Kilvady and Villa Voortman, among others, and has taught numerous workshops. Nick’s work focuses primarily on the expressiveness of the body, on the imagination and the presence we all bring to the space. On connection through dance, getting to know ourselves and others. The pleasure of dancing is the starting point.

This Open Friday is part of the Opening Festival 164VANVOLXEM organised by Rosas, P.A.R.T.S. and Ictus.
